Rhythm is the key element of this vibrant and contemporary piece which incorporates many of the rhythms found in today's popular music.  The melodic and thematic elements, while important, play a supportive and secondary role.  In many instances the thematic material floats over the rhythmic pulse creating a double time feel.  It's lively and persistent throughout with very active and involved percussion.
