The Big Chicken Mambo
Publisher Desc.
The Big Chicken Mambo derives its name from a famous Georgia landmark - a national fried chicken chain in the shape of a giant, googly eyed, beak-moving chicken. This composition for string orchestra and rhythm section begins with a pensive violin solo/soli with piano accompaniment and then erupts into a mambo that will get your students and audience moving. As exciting as the rhythms and melody, the violins never leave first position. The engaging montuno in the piano is written out, as is the drum set part. There is an open section in the middle of the piece that you may use to feature your drummer, or have your students play hand rhythm instruments (cabasa, shakers, claves, etc...) The audience will be dancing in the aisles!
