Plaza March
Publisher Desc.
The Country Club Plaza, named after the surrounding Country Club
neighborhood in Kansas City, Missouri, is a high-end shopping center
developed by J.C. Nichols. The
architecture of the buildings was created with European influences,
particularly that of Seville, Spain.
The Plaza opened in 1923 and has been continuously running, bringing
visitors from around the world, as a popular tourist destination. The center includes horse-drawn carriages,
five-star restaurants and hotels, and is adorned with beautiful statues and
fountains. This music marries the
sounds of Spain, particularly highlighting flamenco dance rhythms, with the
Missouri State Song, entitled the Missouri Waltz. Young musicians will be challenged by the
syncopated rhythms and shifting keys.
