Meditation for Wind Ensemble

Evan G. Chancellor - Solitarius Press

This piece is an adaptation of a choral work by Chancellor, which is a mediation on I John 4:10. This version is set for young band. The harmony is conceived in 4 parts as in the choral work and is divided throughout the ensemble with a fair amount of doubling. The plaintive lyric melody begins in the clarinets and is passed to the brass and then to the flutes. After featuring individual instrument groups, the piece culminates in a closing tutti section
