Concerto in F for Oboe, Strings, and Continuo
Publisher Desc.
Musicologists believe Johann Sebastian Bach wrote this oboe concerto around 1738, even though the full manuscript has not survived as such. It does exist as the harpsichord concerto in E, composed in 1738. Bach sourced all the movements from cantatas he composed in Leipzig in 1726: Cantata 169, Sinfonia and Aria No. 5, and Cantata 49, Sinfonia. This edition includes a fully ornamented oboe part, combining elements of Bach's keyboard version, an earlier edition, and this editor's new additions.
