In the style of the great Count Basie, Blues Train is full of wonderful teaching and performance opportunities for younger groups. Simple, yet effective ensemble writing, blues based changes and a swinging groove make this chart a winner. Designed to facilitate the teaching of improvisation in a group setting, suggested solos and scale sheets are included. This chart is scored for full jazz ensemble, yet is playable with as few as 3 or 4 horns and rhythm section. Optional parts are included for flute, clarinet and French horn. Highly recommended!
