All In for the Blues
As one of the most important American music forms, the blues is an essential concept for developing students who are learning about jazz improvisation and ensemble playing. This easy-level swinger has it all: a strong melody, a fun stop-time section, solid ensemble writing, an effective sax soli that really swings, an open solo section with written or improvised solos, and nice development. Playable with optional reduced or expanded instrumentations, it's scored for 12-17 players with optional parts included for flute, clarinet, horn in F, tuba and vibes. Outstanding performance and instructional repertoire!
