This piece offers students an opportunity to experience Latin music as it would occur in the Caribbean area. The interplay of the rhythmic melody with the lyrical melody later in the piece allows the students to discover intertwined melodic lines or a very simple counterpoint. Percussion is showcased in the middle followed by an opportunity for the low voices to shine. The restatement provides opportunities for dynamics fluctuation and a cute ending.
