America the Beautiful
In this 4-minute arrangement of America the Beautiful, each group of beginning string players is featured on the melody, accompanied by the more experienced members of the orchestra. Originally written by Samuel A. Ward in 1882, thisa arrangement was written for the first year strings at the Palm Springs High School in Palm Springs, California. The majesty of the third verse is sure to convey pride in our American education system and gratitude for those whose continuous efforts make it work. In the premiere version of this work, the Alma Mater was included as a partner song to the third verse. This option is available to other schools and organizations by contacting the composer.
