Inspired by a photo of a ghostly, forgotten ballroom in Shanghai, Phantom Waltz is a melancholy echo of the past. This 6/8 piece features two solo cellos, melodramatic melodies, and colorful accidentals for dramatic effect. A cinematic, emotional, and richly textured work for string orchestra. Optional viola solo parts are included.
