The Cool One

This Benny Golson standard is creative in its treatment here as a Latin cha-cha played at around 152 bpm. The Cool One features expansive and brilliant ensemble writing as well as written or improvised solos for alto sax 1 and trumpet 2. The lead trumpet range is up to F-sharp top line and the scoring allows for optional reduced instrumentation as well as optional parts included for flute and vibes. Not to be missed for developing groups!
