The Beautiful Rain

Teach your young singers about musical imagery as the playful music, text and light percussion effects imitate the sound of falling rain. The words are by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow: "How beautiful is the rain! After the dust and heat, in the broad and fiery street, in the narrow lane. How beautiful is the rain!" The "drip-drop" piano part sets the scene for "drip-drop" vocal rain, while rainstick, drum, wood block and triangle complete the picture. This is simply delightful!
