Sprint

This exciting piece of string writing has a real Copland-esque/American feel to it.  Active, engaging melodies and fun, rhythmic patterns keep the players and audience on the edge of their seats.  Written in three sections: fast-slow-fast-in G major, the fast sections are played with aggressiveness and precision.  The slow section features a lyrical melody in Violin 1 over lush chord voicings in the lower strings.  The high point of the slow section is played with flowing grandeur.  This is an ideal way to start a concert!
