Requiem

Composed in 1984 in memory of the composer's father, this Requiem is written in six movements for mixed chorus and soloists on tenor, soprano and treble (traditionally boy soprano). It employs a large orchestration with full winds and strings, most notably omitting violins in the score. Many luminaries have performed its famous "Pie Jesu" and it received a Grammy Award in 1986 for Best Classical Contemporary Composition.
