The Orchestral Accompaniments to Clementi Sonatinas Op. 36, Nos. 4-6 are part of a series of string orchestra (or string quartet) accompaniments to elementary and intermediate piano literature for use in community music schools and preparatory programs. The string parts underlay the solo pieces and (if you will) make them into little concertos. The piano parts are unchanged (with the exception of one dynamic mark in the first movement of No. 6 where I have taken liberty with it), and because it is assumed that the pianist has provided their own copy of the original solo part, it is not included with these accompaniments. A rough rendering based on the commonly-used Koehler edition is included on its own staves in the full score. A few movements have orchestral preludes added, largely made up of rearranged bits of the original. Where these added sections affect the handling of a “Da Capo” indication, this is duly noted in the score and parts. Where a repetition of a section has an accompaniment distinct from the first time through, that, of course, is also noted. The logging of measure numbers (on the left side of each system) is adapted to that of the solo part to facilitate rehearsal, and the few rehearsal marks provided are given as measure numbers in the original Clementi.
