Off the Rails!

Heres one that can certainly liven up a program! Off the Rails is an energetic latin flavored rock chart that gives players the opportunity to groove and can be enhanced with extra latin percussion parts and players. Beginning with a forceful introduction from the lower voices, the opening melody kicks off in the altos and trumpets punctuated the second time by the lower saxes and trombones. Following the second ending, saxes take over with a smooth melodic idea which gradually adds each voice before moving into an 8 bar repeated solo section. The solo section offers a written solo for trumpet 2 and trombone 3 in modest ranges for middle school or high school students. Additionally, the simple chord progression used is ideal for young students to begin developing their own licks. Get ready for high energy and a good time!!
