This piece set for choir and assembly for use on Good Friday marries a paraphrase of the Solemn Reproaches with the Latin chant AVE VERUM CORPUS. The invocation and five verses are in unison, representing the first-person perspective of the paschal Christ, and are answered by the choir and assembly for the peoples' refrain, featuring newly composed music to accompany a response reminiscent of the venerable Trisagion prayer. The keyboard and guitar accompaniment are enhanced by included parts for oboe and cello.
