Nationalism in Music

This lesson plan may be used in either band class or general music classes. In band class it may be used with Themes of 19th Century Composers for Band, (available from J.W. Pepper). This plan cites the rise of nationalism in music, and discusses the prominent composers whose music influenced that movement in their countries. The plan includes an instruction page, audio examples, vocabulary, an adaptable sample multiple choice assessment, an answer key, and an order of instruction page with national core standards listed.
