The 1927 movie Metropolis was a new sensation for film making. It began the Sci-Fi genre for films. The musical score was also a new sensation as the premiere included a 60 piece orchestra instead of the usual organ accompaniment. The composer was Gottfried Huppertz, a friend of the director, Fritz Lang. Huppertz wrote scores for several of Lang's films, but his Metropolis score was the most popular. This arrangement is scored for a full wind ensemble, including Eb clarinet, alto clarinet, 3 cornets and 2 trumpets, 2 euphoniums, and string bass. I believe the arrangement will work without some of those instruments (Eb clarinet, alto clarinet and only 1 euphonium.
