Introduction and Gloria

This is a lesser-known setting of the Gloria text by Vivaldi with an introductory solo movement for alto solo. The Gloria portion is eleven movements that include SATB choir with two soprano and alto and tenor soloists. The instrumentation calls for trumpet, two oboes, strings, and continuo. While lesser known than Gloria RV 589, this work is eloquent, joyous, and worthy of consideration.
