This multi-movement work depicts three military and veterans' cemeteries in the United States. Veteran and Wilshire sketches the environs of a cemetery in the middle of a busy Los Angeles neighborhood. Garrison Forest places the listener on a walk through the countryside, while never forgetting the legacy of service and sacrifice on display in this beautiful setting. Arlington uses melodies from different eras to emphasize the role the cemetery plays in our nation's past. A drum cadence reflects our inexorable march into the future.
