Fourths Pattern

"Fourths Pattern" is for any number of players, with a minimum of three; it incorporates graphic notation and structured improvisation. "Fourths Pattern" explores and develops the interval of a perfect fourth. Players are intended to play from the full score. Scores are 17x11 oversized landscape. Players may need to read several lines: instrument family (strings, winds) and register (high, middle, low voice). 

 

High instruments read the top line. 

Middle instruments read the middle line.

Lower instruments read the lower line.

 

Wind instruments may additionally follow instructions on the Winds line.

String instruments may additionally follow instructions on the Strings line.

 

A conductor, if available or needed, may additionally indicate solo players or choose sectional groups where indicated on the Conductor line.
