Grammy nominated best instrumental composition for jazz ensemble. A complex piece of extended length. Lots of solo space for Soprano Sax, Trombone, Trumpet and Drums. Mixed meters of 3/2, 6/4, and 4/4. The arrangement begins with the theme stated by Piano, then Saxes and Brass leading to a Soprano Sax solo. Next comes the first development section leading to a trombone solo, more development and a trumpet solo. Next is more ensemble development that interacts with drums leading to a hard swinging section in 4/4. Returning to the original feel and restating the themes, the piece comes to an end with solo space for drums. 6,5,5,G,P,B,D. Alto 1 doubles Soprano. Trumpet 1 - one double high G at end.
