Fantasy for Viola Solo

This viola solo explores the rich sonorities of the instrument. It is 4 minutes long in two equal sections, slow and fast. The tonal center is B-flat with excursions to C and F in the course of winding modulations. A dramatic passage of accented wide leaps across the strings occurs in both sections. The last measure has three strummed B-flat major chords, the only use of a technique other than normal bowing.
