Cover Drive

This potent chart is an electric combination of a 12/8 shuffle and an Afro/Cuban 12/8 groove. The groove drives at all times and there's plenty of action for everyone. A big guitar solo allows for some shedding followed by more dynamic ensemble shouts. Then, all goes quiet as the band builds toward an open solo section. The solos can feature one to four players improvising as one, or together in combinations of two, three, or four. After the solos, the ensemble roars to a brief drum solo and returns to the "A" material and a powerful ending. This will be the highlight of any concert set or a dynamic closer!
