One of the most influential of German romantic composers was Carl Maria von Weber (1786-1826). He is especially known because of his operas, but he composed some Masses and a number of solo concertos as well. In the classical repertoire there are only four bassoon concertos that are well-known (Vivaldi, Mozart, Saint-Saens and von Weber). For clarinet, Carl Maria von Weber wrote two concertos and a concertino. For bassoon he composed the Andante e Rondo Ungarese and, in 1811, the Concerto in F major.
