There's no better jazz form for aspiring soloists than the blues! Here's a great-sounding original chart written in a medium tempo with a nice swing feel. Saxes take the lead to start out, followed by answers in the brass and a brief ensemble shout at the end. The solo section is open for encouraging even shy students to give it a try.
