Black Knights Rise

Written for beginning band, this energetic work in C minor uses the first six notes of the B-flat scale and simple driving rhythms to create a powerful melody that is catchy and memorable. Plenty of simple yet effective percussion adds to the intensity, including an anvil part that simulates the clash of swords. A softer B theme gives the performers a chance to develop their dynamics skills. All sections enjoy melodic content and engaging parts. A perfect piece that will show off the skills young musicians develop in their first year.
