The Centurion
Publisher Desc.
The centurions of the ancient Roman army were selected for both their combat skills and their ability to inspire and lead the soldiers placed under their command. This traditional march celebrates the skills, pride, and leadership that are developed in the context of the modern school band. The Centurion was written for and debuted by the Cypress High School Centurion Imperial Brigade in Cypress, California, under the direction of James Quirion. The trio quotes the school's alma mater, which ends with the line, Marching on to victory, long live Centurion pride!
