British composer Samuel Coleridge Taylor (1875-1912) published The Bamboula, Rhapsodic Dance for orchestra in 1911 after its premiere by the New York Philharmonic the year before. The work was commissioned by his enthusiastic American Patrons Ellen Battell Stoeckel and Carl Stoeckel.
