Publisher Desc.  This six minute Tango inspired work was written for the Canyonlands New Music Ensemble and premiered in 1995 at Salt Lake City. The Harvard Dictionary of Music defines Tango as An Argentine genre of urban song and dance music. The often lengthy texts are emotional, sentimental, and sometimes intensely negative in tone, and the music of the tango, frequently in minor mode, is one of abrupt rhythmic and dynamic contrasts. This highly eclectic work explores these contrasts and suggests an improvisitory feel with its free-form development.
