Publisher Desc.  "Search the Darkness" for viola solo, is a poetic outlook on the COVID-19 Pandemic. This three-minute work was created for an online workshop sponsored by Del Sol Quartet in SF, CA. The work begins with murky, low guttural tones and follows the urgent poem by Rumi of the same title. It gains strength as the sanguine message becomes more certain, and goes on to invoke new textures and sonorities as the struggle continues. An overly-friendly recurring refrain, defined by the musically encoded name C-O-V-I-D-1-9, interrupts the development of the theme.
