Publisher Desc.  Sappy Pine Shuffle was written for the Junior Band at Interlochen Center for the Arts Summer Camp. Who doesnt love a song with a boogie bass line that swings? This piece was written for young players to experience the fun of jazz, following the tradition of call and response phrases and riffing on a tune. Ensembles with limited instrumentation and players with beginning skills will enjoy learning to play this style. Options to swing, or not, and to play upper or lower octaves are included. The title was chosen in honor of the multitude of tall, coniferous trees that are indigenous to Northern Michigan where the Interlochen Arts Academy campus is located. If you park under a tree, youre sure to find sap on the windshield!
