Level One Rhythm Workouts teaches students Primary Rhythms, giving them
the strongest foundation of musicianship: the ability to read and play
rhythms independently against steady pulse. We recommend starting here for
beginning and intermediate music ensembles.
The Primary Rhythms taught are: quarter notes, half notes, dotted half
notes, whole notes, eighth notes, dotted-quarter eighth notes, sixteenth
notes, eighth-two sixteenths, two sixteenths-eight, dotted eighth sixteenth,
and triplet rhythms.
The book is sequenced for regular review of material, and students remained
engaged through clapping, singing, and playing their rhythms. With built in
tracking systems, concepts are broken down into incremental, fun, and
attainable challenges for students to enjoy.
