Psalm XIX & Rigaudon
Publisher Desc.
These two famous organ pieces from the early 18th-century are perfect for
weddings or other church and festive services. "Psalm XIX" is
especially appropriate for a fanfare-filled recessional for weddings, and
"Rigaudon" for a wedding processional. Benedetto Marcello's
"Psalm XIX" and Andre Campra's "Rigaudon" were originally
for solo organ. These arrangements have been expanded to add the splendor of
six brass instruments - Bb piccolo trumpet, Bb trumpet, horn in F, two
trombones, and tuba. The organ part has been edited to leave space for the
brass to be featured.
Note: Although the 2nd trombone parts can technically be played on a tenor
trombone, it is suggested that a bass trombone be used to provide a larger,
more weighted sound to blend more with the tuba and organ pedal bass.
These pieces have been graded "Medium" for the organ parts as
well as some technical passages in the brass.
Notes: Video sample has been edited for time on Psalm XIX. There is no
repeat.
