Publisher Desc.  This text by James Quinn, with hints of the Ave Maris Stella, has wonderful imagery in the first verse - phrases like "star of the sea", "beacon", "shores" are so evocative of the muscular power of the sea - and so it is set it with strong melody and scoring. Although the verses are for SAB choir, they work well too with just cantor; timpani and trumpets are optional, but add a touch of ceremony if available.
