La Ronde des Lutins
Publisher Desc.
Here is a virtuoso concert piece that will challenge any alto
saxophonist. "La Ronde des Lutins" (The Dance of the Goblins)
originally composed for violin by Antonio Bazzini in 1852, is a masterful
work that creates some intense technical gymnastics for any wind instrument.
Many alternate fingerings need to be utilized. There is also slap tonguing,
false fingerings, and optional double tonguing. It is graded
"Advanced" due to the relentless technical facility needed and
frequent use of the altissimo register. A true crowd pleaser, this solo is
perfect for any recital or encore. (NOTES: For time, the first two repeated
sections take the second ending on the video sample. 9x12 piano score and
alto sax part).
