Impromptu on A-C-D-G
Publisher Desc.
Impromptu on A-C-D-G that was written with a specific set of rules set by the composer - to only use 4 notes: A, C, D, and G. The composition begins by first exploring the harmonic possibilities of only using four notes followed by a melodic and improvisatory-like exploration. Later in the piece the four notes are transposed up a fourth to D-F-G-C, altering only one note in the process but beginning the breakdown of the four-note rule with added chromaticism and altered pitches. This piece is reminiscent of Debussy in style and form and will be a challenging addition to any piano recital.
