Publisher Desc.  The melody of the traditional popular French Christmas carol, Il est ne le divin enfant (He is born, The Divine Child), is based upon the hunting call La tete bizarde of the 1500's. French lyrics were added sometime during the 1700's. The tune for this carol can be found in Jean-Romain Grosjean's Airs des noel lorrain, (1862) where it was first published. This arrangement pays homage to Gabriel Faure, (French composer, organist, pianist and teacher) for his arrangement for voice and organ dated 23 December 1888. This arrangement is for 4-part SATB ensemble and keyboard (piano or organ) accompaniment or could be performed a cappella. It uses both the original French text and the traditional English lyrics.
