Humming Chorus
(Coro a bocca chiusa from Madama Butterfly for Woodwind Choir)
Winkelman, John - John Winkelman
Humming Chorus
Publisher Desc.
From the end of the second act of the opera Madama Butterfly the Humming Chorus is a moving musical number. In the opera this melancholy piece is song by the chorus off stage, while on stage, Butterfly, her child and Suzuki wait for the return of Captain Pinkerton. The humming in this arrangement is covered by the brass players and percussion section as the woodwinds hold down the rest of the notation. The hard part on this piece is intonation as the written notes are relatively easy.
