Publisher Desc.  Happenstance was composed for Saxophonist, Jeffrey Collins and Percussionist, Chris Treloar in 1998. The work is designed to explore the energy and tone color range of the instruments in every combination. The style spans the prominent roles each of the instruments continue to play in both the classical and jazz realms. The saxophonist doubles on Bb soprano and Eb alto saxophones and the percussionist doubles on vibraphone and Marimba. Solo interludes provide time needed for each player to change instruments. Separate parts are printed for Marimba and Vibraphone and set up so that the parts for each instrument can be placed on separate music stands.
