Publisher Desc.  Written when the composer was fifteen, Fanfare for Brass Quintet is an exciting, almost-raucous opener for brass quintet. With a motif alternating between 5/8 and 6/8, an unrelenting rhythmic drive persists throughout the entirety of the piece. Fanfare for Brass Quintet is dedicated to Bruce Yurko a both a mentor and teacher a whose incredible generosity and seemingly never-ending inspiration were a significant force in the completion and subsequent revision of the piece. Fanfare for Brass Quintet was a winner of the University of Kentucky Faculty Brass Quintet's 2019 National Call for Scores. A recording was released (Spring 2021) on the University of Kentucky Faculty Brass Quintet's latest album, "New Works for Brass Quintet."
