C-Jam Blues
Bill Holman grabs this iconic Ellington tune and runs with it. The arrangement, with its straight-ahead, driving swing, and tons of great background figures is yet another amazing example of Holman's extraordinary arranging skills. There's solo space for tenor saxophone and, of course, trumpet. There is no real need for any extra high trumpet playing here. The ensemble shout choruses alone are enough reason to put this chart in every jazz band library in the land. You will have a blast with this one!
