Bugle Call Rag
Perhaps the most well known version of this flag-waver was recorded by "The King of Swing," Benny Goodman. This very easy arrangement from Robert Woods works well at a variety of tempos and makes an ideal opener or closer for your young jazz groups. The solos are provided or can be improvised by alto and tenor saxes, trumpet and trombone. This fun chart was originally written in 1922, but became a popular standard in the 1940's and can be played with as few as 3 saxes, 1 trumpet, 1 trombone and rhythm section. A great style model for young players!
