Publisher Desc.  The bossa nova was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and so was Antonio Carlos Jobim who is considered the "father of bossa nova". From 1988-1990 I taught instrumental music at The American School in Rio de Janeiro. While teaching in Rio I heard some fabulous Brazilian musicians perform all types of music, but the bossa nova will always be my personal favorite. It has a cool, dry, sophisticated sound with jazz harmonies supporting some of the most beautiful unforgettable melodies. I tried to capture this spirit when composing Bossa Breeze.
