Publisher Desc.  I went to Havana to record my jazz suite in January 2017. While there, I attended a percussion master class with the inspirational percussionist, Jose Eladio Amat. I fell in love with the happy rhythms in Cuban music, especially, the Cha Cha Cha. I chose this dance form to express the joy and pleasure I receive from Barbara Day Turner and her orchestra. An excerpt from the well-known work "Rico Vacilon" by Rosendo Ruiz Quevedo serves as the chorus. Nancy and Ken Weimer, Marilyn Bryson and Friends commissioned a bouquet of short works for Barbara Day Turner on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of the San Jose Chamber Orchestra. Barbarumba! was one of these pieces.
