Babel

(two movements for low brass and marimba)
Wilson, Zack - Zack Wilson
Publisher Desc.  The inspiration for "Babel" is is the ancient city of Babylon. I've always been enamored with the hazy, ethereal image I have in my head of the forsaken kingdom and the long-forgotten people who inhabited it. Babel is a duet; it wasn't intended as a euphonium solo with marimba accompaniment. Both players have virtuosic moments throughout and are encouraged to improvise and embellish at their will. Though the piece was originally written for euphonium, the low brass part could comfortably be played on a trombone with an F trigger.
