And a Star is Shining in the East
A lovely melody in 3/4 time, quietly reflective with a short a cappella section in the middle. Colin Kirkpatrick’s setting of the text by Danny Alorean is sure to please, and quite easy to sing. The text looks at Bethlehem through the eyes of the shepherds. This piece would be ideal for a nativity play or part of a Christmas service or concert. The SSA voicing makes this choral piece ideal for a girl-choir or boy-choir or indeed any community choir which has no tenor or bass singers. The vocal ranges are: Soprano 1: C4 – F5; Soprano 2: B flat 5 – D5 and Alto: A flat 3 – C5. (Duration: 02:50)
