American Patrol

American Patrol...but everybody's got that in their library. Well, yes and no. There are many bands using the stock dance band arrangement originally written for five saxes and five brass, and possibly adapted for a bigger band. The problem is that it's incorrect on a number of counts, not least is that the correct key is B-flat. The stock was in A-flat and made many sectional passages lumpy and tricky to play. This has been faithfully reproduced here, with the instruments scored properly, and the wrong notes and chord progressions tidied up. All of the expressions and dynamics are in place and easy to read. This is a really good value for money chart and will give your band the authentic Miller sound when you play it. Lead alto doubles on clarinet, and baritone sax doubles on alto. The trumpet solo is written for the 2nd part, and cued in the lead trumpet part.
