This work revolves around a setting of a text by Valentin Thilo as translated by Geoffrey W. Daisley. Verse one deals with Christ's incarnation; the second verse speaks of his reconciling us to God; verse three is a prayer of commitment. The music reaches its climax in the final verse on the lyrics, "Joy fills the world." Appropriate for both Christmas and general use.
